How to CT Scan Your Car?

Computed Tornography (CT) scanner technoloy is familiar in world of health. It function is to create a three dimension tornography picture that helps to diagnose a disease in human body.

The function of CT scanner actually doesn't stop there. Fraunhofer Development Center is using Large size of CT Scanner to find a damage to a car. The researcher hopes that they can get detail information to how each car component react when it's got crashed.

Fraunhofer said that CT can giving him three dimension analysis without interfere other component. The problem is on it's size, but the principle is simple, if the CT scanner can rotating around the object then they can do the analysis. Right now, Fraunhofer have CT scanner that can scan car or even place wings.

The procedure is like this, the crashed car enter the line of scan, then two detector of X-ray in the both side will do the scan and make sure to get three dimension picture. The resolution of these CT scanner is 0,8 mm but the designer hopes that they can lower to 0,4 mm.
