Crash with Honda Odyssey 2014

Honda very confident in the safety of Odyssey 2014. This Premium MPV with seven passenger has succeed set a record in crash tes that been held by Insurance Institute for Highway  Safety (IIHS)

Honda has modificated Odyssey for 2014, although it minor modification but this is the first time Honda put vacuum cleaner as a standar equipment in passenger vehicle.

IIHS has added crash test as the part of evaluation, starting in last year. Crash test including crash with other car, trees, or traffic sign. In that test, the dummy that act as the Odyssey was still on good shape. The dummy only got a minor injury.

The structure of odyssey has successful maintain the steer on it's place. The front airbag opened in front of the driver and the side airbag also successfully protect the head of driver from other foreign object.

Four Japan Car Manufacture Recall 3.4 million car

Four Japan car manufacture, Toyota, Nissan, Honda and Mazda are doing campaign to recall their million cars, it's because they had issued in the airbag.

There was five cases in Japan and United States involved the airbag. The airbag can't work perfectly. Toyota said that there was a part in the airbag that indicated technical failure so it made the airbag expand and explode un-normally when impact.

Airbag will fill with excessive pressure, the result are iron compound in the inflator will shatter and the flake will go out from the airbag and potential hurting  the passenger.

Spare Part company of this airbag is Takata. Their product was used by all the car that being recall. Toyota is recalling 1.73 million units in over the world, Honda is recalling 1.14 million units, Nissan is recalling 480,000 units and Mazda is recalling 45,500 units. The spare part change only takes one to two hours for all model.'

New Features for All New Honda Jazz

Honda will join with other car manufacture which has offered an automatic brake feature when the car in low speed. This features can help typical city drivers.

They named it Honda City-Brake Active System, this technology is similar to other competitors, such as Volvo, Volkswagen Group and Ford.

Just like other competitors features, The main function of City-Brake Active System is made the car stop directly to avoid accident when driving in low speed. This features is activated when the car speed around 30 Km/hour, with using laser in the front rearview mirror to monitor the road. If there a chance to impact, the sensor will immediately give warning in audio and visual. And if the drivers doesn't respond then the car will brake automatically.

The different of this feature (Honda City-Brake Active System) that it has extra feature. This extra features will active when speed around 0 to 6 km/hour to avoid if there a potential accident when the car start to accelerate.

System will calculate if the drivers pushed the pedal gas to hard or detecting if there any object four meter in front of the car. And once again, the warning sign will active before City-Brake Active System activated to braking automatically.

Honda will plant this features to All New Honda Jazz which will be launched in Japan this year.

Woman from Arlington VS Honda

This woman made Honda recall thousand of their products

Consumer has a right and producer has responsibility to keep their product quality. Based of that statement, this women submit petition for Honda to Recall their car units because there is failure in the brake system. The result is Honda has to recall 250,000 car units.

Carrie Carvalho from Arlington made a bold move to ensure her right in United States. She has Pilot Honda which produced in 2005 and having failure in the brake system. The brake system of her car often brake itself without she stepped the pedal brake.

Carrie not submit a complain to Honda but she submit a complain (formal petition) to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), explaining that she has defective car. NHTSA recently got many complain about this failure then they made an investigation in October and the result is Honda has to Recall their product.

The brake failure is happened because Vehicle Stability Assist features has problem in electric capacitor during the manufacture process. Honda recall their products in United States such as Honda Pilot (101,000 units), Acura MDX (60,000 Units), Acura RLS (21,000 units). The total of recall products is around 250,000 units in the world.

Honda US spokesman, Chris Martin said that this recall made not because petition from Carrie but they got many complaint from the customer then they made an investigation.

Honda Launch Civic Type R in next 2014

Honda will sell their new Civic Type R in 2015 but in 2014, they will show it to the public. VW has launched their new golf GTI and so does KIA has finished their Pro Cee'd GT, Honda obviously has to launch Civic Type R as soon as possible.

Honda use emblem for 2015 model, it can be described that it will go to the market in 2014. Honda also told that Civic Type R will use technology that adapted from Civic WTCC model. But the specific what will they use for the engine, they doesn't give any specific information. Rumor said that they will use 1,6 lt or 2,0 engine.

Managing Director Honda UK Dave Hodgetts explained that the engine output can produce at least 265 HP, but it might can touch up to 300 HP.

Honda confident with their hatchback Honda Model. They will sent it to the circuit test Nurburgring in the end of 2013.

Honda return to Japan

Honda Motor Company plan to build car factory in Japan. Honda has not build any new factory in Japan for 50 years. Honda open they last factory in 1964, located in Sayama Japan near Factory in Tokyo. Those two factory build a car for Asian Market.

Since 1990, when asset price in Japan collapse, Honda moved their car manufacture factory outside Japan. Now, Honda build their new factory in Japan when Yen weakened. This situation brought profit for Honda, which is weakened Yen will take investor to Japan. Yen has weakened 12 percent againt dollar since in middle of last November. This situation has increase Japan product value that sold in overseas.

 Their new factory is planned build in Yorii, a town that locate in northwest Tokyo. The capacity production of their new factory is 250,000 unit each year. Honda said that their new plant is reorganitation part in domestic operation that include production scale in Sayama factory.

The facility of their new factory in Yorii will use more efficiently technology, so Honda can production capsule model such as Honda Jazz.
